Cold
Dark Matter
Cold Dark Matter is
the second book in the Morgan O'Brien series. When a promising
young astronomer is found hanging from the struts
of
the FrancoCanadian Telescope in Hawaii, Ottawa
wants an investigation. They're not interested in the
cause of death -- suicide or murder -- but his research diaries
are
missing, and they want them back. Morgan is sent out
to
find them.
Once on the Big Island, though, she discovers she's
not alone. Someone else is chasing the diaries and they are more
than willing to kill to get them. The search leads
Morgan from the desolate summit of Mauna Kea deep
into Ottawa's past, where the shadow of the Cold War still obscures
the truth.
“… this excellent novel about good and evil, past
and present, and the social consequences of 9/11… is more
than just a fine mystery. It’s full of fascinating information,
all told in understandable language. The message, when it comes,
is chillingly clear.” Margaret Cannon, Toronto Globe and
Mail.

Dead
Water Creek
In Dead Water Creek Morgan nabs
a case to investigate a high-profile salmon scientist accused
of embezzling research funds. The case has everything
she loves -- big money, big science and big politics
-- but best of all,
it means
a trip to scenic Vancouver and a week away from Bob. Even before she
leaves, though, things don't add up. Parts of the file
are missing, instructions are penned on untraceable
post-it notes, and restrictions are put on the investigation.
Once in Vancouver, what seemed like a straightforward
case is anything but. People disappear, bodies float to the
surface, and Morgan begins to suspect that even those
closest to her may be involved.
